VLC's Unique Tiered Certificates

Virtual Learning Concepts has developed a unique automated tiered (multilevel) certificate of completion system. This unique system will evaluate your course scores and automatically award you the highest Certificate of Completion available.

Certificates come in three (3) major types:

  1. Level I

    1. This is the highest level of certificate that is tied to test completion (usually associated with continuing education credits). This certificate is based on either passing all required test(s) with a score equal to or greater than the threshold value or by achieving a cumulative average score for all required tests equal to or greater than the threshold value. The threshold value is assigned by the course instructor for the current course.

  2. Level II

    1. This certificate functions in the same manor as the Level I certificate. The only difference is the threshold value is usually set lower. This certificate is usually not associated with continuing education credits due to the passing threshold being set somewhat lower.

  3. Level III

    1. This certificate is the equivalent of a time and attendance certificate. The requirements for this certificate are controlled completely by the course instructor with several threshold values. Complex calculations are performed on each content screen the student visits to assure proper time for comprehension is allotted and the cumulative time calculated is compared to the required threshold value. If the calculated value is equal to or greater than the threshold value a Level III certificate is awarded.

NOTE:

  1. Not all certificate types (I, II, III) and options are available for each course.

    1. The course instructor determines what level(s) of certificate(s) is available for their course.

    2. The course instructor determines if grade averaging is allowed.

    3. All threshold values are assigned by the course instructor.
    4.
